Nycoa Honored by Visit from Governor Sununu

NYCOA (Nylon Corporation of America) was honored to receive Governor Sununu for the day, on September 2nd. As a small business which runs out of Manchester, NYCOA is a prime example of how support for small businesses can lead to stronger local communities, more sustainable manufacturing, and job creation. We took this chance to discuss all these things and more, while also showing off the exciting recent changes to our facilities and delving into our plans for the future.

We discussed energy independence and how we can support NYCOA growth in partnership with the great state of New Hampshire. For example - energy is both local and global. It is well known that energy has faced some tumultuous times in 2022, and the Governor was focused, educated, and informed about how the state of energy distribution affects businesses, including manufacturing businesses in New Hampshire such as NYCOA.

We took Governor Sununu on a full plant tour -

- highlighting NYCOA’s specialty nylon reactors, our compounding extruders, our R&D testing, pilot production capabilities, and more. In each case, we highlighted how NYCOA continues to reinvest into its workforce and capabilities. We also toured the Governor through our new investment and expansion areas – new testing equipment, space expansion, and facilities that will keep NYCOA as a modern manufacturer of Made-in-USA materials.

Gov. Sununu appreciated that NYCOA has been growing and investing in its people in NH, and that we are making long-term investments that will support years and even generations of skilled workers.

New Hampshire does a great deal of work and is seriously committed to supporting small businesses, and the manufacturing industry in NH is no exception.  We discussed how state and federal systems have supported NYCOA, and how important the continued support on business growth in NH is to our company and our team.  We’ve seen firsthand what this kind of results-oriented investment can lead to, and how powerful partnership between businesses and pro-business governments can be, even in extreme economic environments.

Nycoa representatives sit around a table with Governor Sununu to discuss various matters regarding investment in small businesses.

After our day with Governor Sununu, we at NYCOA felt a renewed clarity of purpose. A purpose to our community, state, and most importantly our employees. Like the Governor ultimately, we answer to our customers and our people. And with the support of the governor, we are committed to the task of keeping New Hampshire an innovative center of manufacturing for generations to come.
