Announcing New NYCOA Product Families

NYCOA has been developing, refining, and polymerizing engineered nylon for over 50 years. Along the way, NYCOA has developed polyamide materials that are customized for specific performance features, industries, or additives that provide specific functionality.  Today, we are excited to share NYCOA’s new product family trade names with all of our customers, peers and industry experts who use nylon.  They are:

NYCOSIX  ||  NYCO66  ||   NYCOSEAL  ||  NYCOTUFF  ||  NYCOFILL  ||  NYFLEX  ||  NXTAMID  ||  NYCOBOND  ||  NYCOADAPT

With these product trade names, any customer can still purchase their existing grades of specialty engineered nylons, just as they always have (for example, by familiar product numbers such as 1637, 518, 2012, 2246, CT155, and so on);  what is different is that now they can see the products they purchase next to similar nylon grades in the same family - ones which may offer slightly different performance parameters.  This can lead to new product discovery and more efficient product search for many of our growing customers.  And for new customers, this makes sense of NYCOA’s over 400 supported nylon grades, and understand our world map of products.

NYCOSIX

Nylon 6 - Based products

NYCOA’s most established set of Nylon-6 grades.  After producing millions of pounds a year for decades, these products are consistent, batch after batch, and offer a known value to customers all over the world.

NYCOADAPT

NYCOADAPT: Nylon Copolymers designed for specialized performance needs

NYCOA has produced specialty copolymers for decades to expand and diversify the properties we can offer with our nylon grades - the NYCOADAPT product line features solutions providing more flexibility, better thermal resistance or heat stabilization, tensile performance, and more. NYCOADAPT is among NYCOAs most diverse product groups.

NYFLEX

NYFLEX: Flexible PEBA nylons with truly incredible properties

Ny-Flex was invented and developed by NYCOA as a uniquely flexible high-performance nylon, and was first introduced in 2018.  Ny-Flex’s unique chemistry provides outstanding thermal stability, cold temperature impact, energy return, processability, and weigh-reduction compared to other polymers, including standard nylons.  Learn more about Ny-Flex here

NXTAMID

NXTAMID:  Unique long-chain nylon solutions offering innovation, performance and value

NYCOA is excited to launch its NXTamid product line, offering novel chemistry and new grades of long-chain nylon polymers with exciting properties;  NXTamid chemistry offers a valuable alternative to nylon 11 and nylon 12, including increased thermal performance, comparable or superior chemical resistance in many applications, and outstanding toughness and durability.  NYCOA has already found positive results developing NXTamid in several different extrusion and coatings applications, and is excited to bring its performance to your application.  Learn more about NXTamid here

NYCOBOND

NYCOBOND:  Low-melt nylons for adhesive and bonding applications

NYCOA has offered lower-melt nylon grades for several years, and is now grouping those products under the trade name NYCOBOND.  These nylon chemistries are both semi-crystalline and fully amorphous, appropriate for adhesive, bonding, and other needs where flow is critical.

NYCOTUFF

NYCOTUFF: Impact-modified and super-tough Nylon

Nylon is known for its resistance to tear and its durability, and NYCOTUFF is the product family of nylon grades that we have tuned to maximal impact resistance.  Try NYCOTUFF for your most challenging applications.

nycofill.png

NYCOFILL

NYCOFILL:  Nylon grades featuring fill content (glass fiber, carbon fiber, graphene, etc)

Filled nylons have a broad set of applications in molded applications, metal replacement, and industrial and commercial parts.  NYCOFILL products have decades of successful track record in meeting these needs, and have passed the performance test in many industries.

NYCOSEAL

NYCOSEAL: Nylon grades engineered for rotational molding

Rotational molding as an industry includes specific needs for nylon polymers in applications where other polymers don’t provide sufficient performance.  NYCOSEAL grades have been designed to offer better processability, superior impact resistance, and offer a new generation of performance to this specialized niche within the rotomolding industry.

NYCO66

NYCO66: Nylon 6,6 - based products

NYCOA has, on several occasions, developed nylon 6,6 materials for customer demands that required the specific performance features of a 6,6.  NYCO66 is a subdivision of NYCOA products that we are proud to provide for their specific properties.
